Terms and Conditions

 Umbrella Master Service Agreement

1. Service Authorization & Payment

• Payment = Authorization. Once payment is received, the client authorizes Schematic Works to perform evaluation and repair work.
• Bench / Diagnostic Fees (nonrefundable deposit; credited toward repair if approved):

•       Standard: $120

•       Rush: $180

•       Astera (non-warranty): $100 flat

•       Profoto D4, Pro-10, Pro-11: $250

•       Profoto 8a: $250 programming flat fee (no warranty, discontinued parts)

Labor Rates (per hour, parts not included):

o   Electronics: $120/hr. (1 hr. minimum)

o   Grip: $120/hr. (0.5 hr. minimum)

o   Rush: $180/hr.

o   On-Site Service (NYC boroughs): $200/hr. (2 hr. minimum; time begins when technicians depart Schematic Works; additional fees apply outside the five boroughs)

2. Warranty & non-warranty

• Warranty Repairs: Astera, Briese, Creamsource, LiteGear, Nanlux. Proof of purchase with serial number required.
• Non-Warranty Repairs: ARRI, Astra, Broncolor, Dynalite, K5600, Mole Richardson, Profoto, Speedotron.
• Some repairs may be completed in partnership with the manufacturer.
• Labor Warranty: 30 days unless otherwise noted.
• Profoto 8a: Repairs and sales are final; no warranty.

3. Parts & Manufacturer Involvement

• Repairs depend on parts availability.
• Parts may be OEM, manufacturer-approved, or equivalent replacements of equal/greater quality, per manufacturer guidance.
• Manufacturers may direct Schematic Works to alternatives; these recommendations will be followed.
• Schematic Works is not responsible for manufacturer backorders, discontinued parts, or late shipments that delay or prevent completion.

4. Storage & Abandonment

Storage fees apply per unit:

·       After 30 days: $120

·       After 60 days: $240

·       After 90 days: $360
• After 90 days without payment or pickup, equipment is considered abandoned. Abandoned equipment may be disposed of, scrapped, or resold at Schematic Works’ discretion.

5. Shipping & Risk of Loss

• Customers are responsible for shipping to and from Schematic Works.
• Risk of loss transfers to the customer once equipment leaves our facility with a carrier.
• Schematic Works is not responsible for delays, damage, or loss in transit.
• Customers are encouraged to fully insure shipments and avoid USPS.

6. Liability

• Equipment is handled with reasonable care.
• Schematic Works is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage due to events beyond our control.

7. Payment Terms & Credit Card Authorization

• Accepted payments: ACH, check, or online portal.
• Credit Card Authorization (CCA): A signed CCA form is kept on file strictly as a contingency for unpaid or abandoned balances.
• Standard CC fee: 3%. Manual entry (for abandoned/noncompliant charges) fee: 4%.
